The right pre-show meal is satisfying without being heavy. Here is exactly what to order at Sage Yellowfin depending on how much time you have.
You have time for the full experience. Start with a plate of oysters — 6 Natural or Kilpatrick at $34 is our most ordered pre-show starter. Take your time with a main: Moreton Bay bugs (Queensland's signature crustacean), char-grilled king prawns with smoked mango salsa ($30), or whole barramundi are all excellent choices. With 90 minutes you can comfortably consider dessert — our chocolate fondant or the cheese selection pair well with a digestif before you head to QPAC.
Oysters to start, followed by one seafood main. Skip dessert or pre-order it alongside your main so it arrives without a wait. Tell your server your show time and they will sequence service to keep you on track. This is the most common pre-show window and our team is very practised at it.
One dish each, or share. Our seafood platter to share ($95 per person) is the fastest high-impact option — it arrives together with no course sequencing needed, covers multiple proteins and is visually impressive for the table. If you prefer individual dishes, one shared starter and one main each can be done in 60 minutes when service is prioritised. Always mention your show time at booking and again on arrival.
Call us directly on (07) 3129 9398 before you book. We can sometimes accommodate express dining for guests with simple orders and firm timing needs — but this is best arranged by phone rather than via online booking. We would rather advise you honestly than have you rush through a meal.

Yes — the Lyric Theatre and Cremorne Theatre at QPAC both have strict lockout policies. Once the lights go down, latecomers may not be admitted until an interval — and some shows have no interval. We recommend arriving at QPAC with at least 8 to 10 minutes to spare before curtain. At Sage Yellowfin, we track your show time and tell you when to leave so you arrive at the theatre relaxed and with time to find your seat.
When you mention your show time at booking, we pace a 2-course dinner to take approximately 60 to 75 minutes — comfortably within the window for most show nights. If timing is tight, we can complete two courses in around 50 minutes by sequencing dishes efficiently.
