Best Seafood Brisbane

Sage Yellowfin is a seafood restaurant South Bank Brisbane has had on Little Stanley Street for over a decade. Modern Australian cuisine, Queensland coastal produce, no tablecloths and no apology for either. Here’s what that means in practice.

Seafood restaurant South Bank Brisbane — Sage Yellowfin

What We Serve at Our Seafood Restaurant South Bank Brisbane

The kitchen sources from Queensland trawlers, Hervey Bay scallop fisheries, Fremantle octopus boats and Riverina cattle stations. Moreton Bay bugs from the bay system east of the city. Hervey Bay scallops from shallow waters four hours north. Queensland King Prawns from the same suppliers we’ve used for years. Riverina Black Angus from the New South Wales tablelands. Flinders Island lamb from Bass Strait.

The full menu runs to over 50 dishes across entrees, mains and desserts.

What We’re Known For

Fresh oysters shucked daily — natural, Kilpatrick, Rockefeller and seasonal. Plates of 3, 6 and 12. Every Monday, all varieties are 50% off, all day. Full oyster menu →

Moreton Bay bugs char-grilled with chimichurri. If you’ve lived in Brisbane and never tried them, this is the reason to come in. The flavour sits somewhere between lobster and prawn and is more interesting than either.

Seafood feast platter — natural oysters, prawn cutlet skewers, calamari, Hervey Bay scallops, grilled octopus, battered hake, chips, salsa verde and romesco. Designed for two, ordered regularly by four who share it alongside other dishes.

Deception Bay sand crab lasagna — blue swimmer crab, Moreton Bay Bug, Pecorino Romano, Nduja sauce. The dish that surprises people who came in expecting a straightforward seafood restaurant.

Private Dining and Groups

We host private dining for groups from 8 to 60 — birthday dinners, corporate lunches, anniversary celebrations, farewell events. The kitchen designs menus for private groups rather than defaulting to a fixed set menu.
